Youth Hub Africa is excited to announce the launch of the 5th Cohort of its Media Internship Programme (MIP), providing young Nigerians with the chance to develop essential digital media skills needed in today’s ever-changing media landscape. This program aims to support young creatives in transitioning from theoretical learning to practical, hands-on experience through a combination of structured training and internship opportunities.
The 2026 edition of the Media Internship Programme is focused on enhancing skills, promoting practical learning, and making a positive impact. It is designed to give participants valuable industry exposure, hands-on experience, and professional competencies that are in line with the current demands of the media and communication sectors.
The significance of this program lies in the fact that many young Nigerians have a passion for media and creativity, but struggle to turn that passion into employable skills. The Youth Hub Africa Media Internship Programme bridges this gap by providing participants with intensive digital media training and internship placements that allow them to work on real projects, understand industry workflows, and meet industry standards. By emphasizing hands-on learning, the program helps young creatives gain confidence, technical skills, and professional readiness, preparing them for successful careers in media, communication, and digital storytelling.
Who Is Eligible to Apply
- The programme is open to young Nigerian graduates and creatives who have a strong interest in media, storytelling, and digital communication.
- Applicants should be interested in areas such as photography, videography, social media management, content creation, or development communication.
- Participation is strictly for individuals based in Abuja, as the training is conducted fully in person.
- Applicants must own a laptop and be able to commit fully to the one-week training programme, which will run from 11 March to 16 March 2026, including a mandatory Saturday session.
- Full attendance throughout the training period is required, as participants who do not complete the training will not progress to the internship phase.
What Participants Will Gain
- Selected participants will receive intensive, hands-on media training tailored to modern digital platforms and current industry needs.
- Following the training phase, participants will be placed in internships where they will gain exposure to real media projects, professional workflows, and workplace expectations, helping them build both technical skills and career-ready confidence.
