New Job Opening at Klinserv Nigeria

Klinserv Nigeria, a Facilities Management Company, is  recruiting suitably qualified candidates to fill the position below:

Job Title: Facility Handyman (Painter and Carpenter)

Location:Mainland / Surulere, Lagos
Employment Type: Full-time

Job Summary

  • The Facility Handyman carries out general repairs and minor maintenance tasks across the site — covering light carpentry, painting and touch-ups, fittings and fixtures, minor building fabric repairs, and first-line attention to minor plumbing and electrical issues.
  • The role is the practical, go-to problem-solver for the many small  jobs that keep a live, high-footfall facility presentable and functional.
  • Anything beyond simple first-line tasks on electrical or plumbing systems is referred to the specialist Electrical Technician or Plumber rather than attempted.
  • The role requires a willing, hands-on individual with broad practical skills, a safety-conscious approach, and the reliability to work through a steady flow of maintenance requests.

Responsibilities

  • Carry out general repairs and minor maintenance across the site: light carpentry, door and lock adjustments, furniture repairs, and fixing or replacing fittings and fixtures.
  • Carry out painting, touch-ups, and minor surface/finish repairs to keep public and back-of-house areas presentable.
  • Attend to minor building fabric repairs (e.g. tiles, panels, trims, signage mounting) within your skill level.
  • Handle first-line minor plumbing tasks only — such as changing a tap washer, clearing a simple blockage, or tightening a leaking fitting — and refer anything beyond this to the Plumber.
  • Handle first-line minor electrical tasks only — such as changing a lamp, tube, or fuse — and refer any fault, wiring, or fixed-installation work to the Electrical Technician. Never attempt electrical work beyond simple replacements.
  • Hang fixtures, mount fittings, assemble furniture, and carry out small installation tasks safely and tidily.
  • Respond promptly to maintenance requests assigned via the helpdesk/CMMS, completing jobs to a good standard and on time.
  • Identify and report defects, hazards, or jobs that require a specialist technician, rather than attempting work outside your competence.
  • Keep tools, materials, and work areas clean, safe, and organised, and use correct caution signage when working in public areas.
  • Follow all safety procedures, use the correct PPE, and work safely around members of the public, staff, and visitors.
  • Maintain simple records of completed work and materials used, and update the helpdesk/CMMS on job status where required.
  • Support event-based and peak-period readiness by completing minor repairs and setup tasks ahead of time.

Requirements

  • Minimum of Secondary School Education; a trade/vocational certificate in building maintenance, carpentry, or a related practical skill is an advantage.
  • 1–3 years’ experience in general maintenance, building repairs, or a multi-skilled handyman role; strong motivated candidates with less experience will be considered.
  • Broad practical ability across several areas — carpentry, painting, fittings, and basic repairs — with the honesty to know the limits of your competence.
  • Basic awareness of when a job must be referred to a specialist (Electrical Technician or Plumber); no attempting electrical or plumbing work beyond simple first-line tasks.
  • Comfortable using common hand and power tools safely.
  • Able to follow instructions, read a work order or job card, and keep simple records (training provided on the CMMS/helpdesk system).
  • Reliable, punctual, and willing, with a practical problem-solving attitude.
  • Safety-conscious and comfortable working in a live, high-footfall public environment.
  • Physically fit and able to be on your feet, lift, carry, bend, and work at low heights for extended periods.
  • Willingness to work shifts, including occasional evenings or weekends, based on operational and event schedules.

Salary
N100,000 – N120,000 monthly.

Application Closing Date
