Job Title: Retail Sales Manager

Locations: Onitsha – Anambra, Benin – Edo and Abia

Job Summary

  • We are looking for an experienced and result-driven Retail Sales Manager to lead a sales teams and drive deposit mobilization, customer acquisition and liability growth for the Bank.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and coordinate salesforce personnel within the region.
  • Drive growth in Savings, Current Accounts and other low-cost deposits.
  • Develop and execute regional sales and customer acquisition strategies.
  • Monitor team performance using MIS and performance reports.
  • Coach, train and support sales teams to achieve assigned targets.
  • Ensure adequate sales-force coverage across branches.
  • Manage performance, engagement, recognition and reward of sales personnel.
  • Identify performance gaps and implement improvement actions.
  • Provide regular reports on regional sales and deposit performance.

Key Performance Indicators

  • Deposit and liability growth.
  • Savings and Current Account balances.
  • New-to-Bank customer acquisition.

Requirements

  • Minimum of Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant discipline.
  • At least 5 years’ banking experience, preferably in Sales, Retail/SME Banking and Relationship Management.
  • Proven experience in deposit mobilization and customer acquisition.
  • Strong sales leadership, people management and business development skills.
  • Must be resident within the assigned business area and possess a strong understanding of the local market, customer segments and business environment.
  • Ability to consistently meet and exceed targets.

  • The Relationship Officer is a full-time, on-site role based in Nigeria, responsible for managing and growing a portfolio of individual and corporate customers.

Qualifications

  • Sales and business development capabilities, with experience in identifying opportunities, cross-selling financial products, and meeting revenue or portfolio growth targets.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills for engaging with clients, presenting solutions, negotiating terms, and collaborating with internal stakeholders.
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills, including the ability to assess customer needs, review account performance, and support basic credit and risk evaluations.

  • Basic knowledge of banking operations, retail and corporate banking products, and regulatory requirements in the Nigerian financial services environment.
  • Proficiency in standard office productivity tools (e.g., MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and familiarity with core banking or CRM systems.
  • Prior experience in a relationship management, customer service, or sales role within financial services or a similar industry is highly beneficial.
