Job Duties
Surface Well Testing:
- Under strict supervision, assists during the rigging up and down of Surface Well Testing (SWT) service line equipment on work locations for the purpose of maintaining control and the processing of wellbore fluids during well testing operations and providing the customer with essential reservoir information using (but not limited to):
- Surface Well Testing and Surface Pressure Control equipment packages. Learns basic Testing & Subsea (Surface Well Test) operations to include (but not limited to): completion of Job Safety Analysis (JSA) paperwork, performing and completing preventative maintenance procedures, maintaining and operating Testing & Subsea (SWT) equipment, use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), Journey Management, Job Safety Analysis (JSA’s), Permit to Work System (PTW), Hazard Observation Check (HOC Cards), Toolbox Meetings, Safety Huddles, Local Area requirements, and completing Testing & Subsea training requirement programs on time.
- Receives instructions on navigation and use of Halliburton Management System. Works in the Testing & Subsea workshop assisting in the repair and maintenance of Surface Well Test equipment. Assists in assembly and preparation of equipment for installation and service.
- Assists in the running of a job and in the clean-up, repair, and preparation for the next job.
- Promotes safety awareness and environmental consciousness and complies with all applicable safety and environmental procedures and regulations. Job tasks, correctly performed, have minimal impact upon the viability of the organization.
- Learns design methods for Surface Well Testing deliverables; this includes learning to use simulation software and P&IDs using AutoCAD.

Surface Well Testing:

Job Duties
- Under general supervision, performs all phases of the rigging up and down of Surface Well Testing (SWT) service line equipment on work locations for the purpose maintaining control and processing of wellbore fluids during well testing operations and providing the customer with essential reservoir information by the use of (but not limited to): Surface Well Testing and Surface Pressure Control equipment packages.
- In addition to responsibilities, systems knowledge, competence and skills sets acquired from lower-level roles, this individual will be required to mentor and train lower level personnel in areas of expertise and will be required to become a dedicated Assessor for junior SWT personnel.
- Routinely works in more than one type of well site (onshore and offshore) and base camp as assigned by Service Coordinator. Capable of working in other product lines within the Testing & Subsea (PSL) on location and in the workshop. Participate in high profile projects.
- Provides the planning necessary for the job including site surveys, equipment set up, well site direction, and customer-related support activities.
- Performs quality control of well test data and provides basic customer reports.
- Monitors instruments and performs necessary calculations to assure quality of data/job. Job tasks, correctly performed, impact indirectly on cost containment, efficiency, profitability of operations.
Requirements
- Should have good working knowledge of all service lines within the Testing & Subsea PSL.
- Skills are typically acquired through completion of high school or similar education and 7 years of SWT experience.
- Must be able to perform all the Testing & Subsea (SWT) jobs in the local area.
- Must be able to interpret P&ID drawings, navigate data books and perform QA related tasks related to (SWT) equipment & operations. Must be able to pressure test equipment safely.
- Must have demonstrated ability to work safely with hand tools.
- Must have demonstrated knowledge of basic rig function including but not limited to the following:
- Weight Indicator – What is it used for, and how it relates to our work.
- Mud System – Weights of common well fluids – what effect they can have on our equipment, pressure reading, strokes per/min – bbls/min
- Basic rig manifold.
- Wireline Surface Pressure Control Equipment.
- Must be able to explain the function of the mobilization documentation.
- Must be able to review proposals received from Business Development (BD) to confirm best practices are followed and that proposed job plan will meet customers’ expectations in the most efficient manner.
- Must be able to communicate with other PSLs and third parties, to ensure equipment compatibility.
- Must be able to explain the local Halliburton Management System (HMS) process for Prepare Resources.
- Must be able to use Correction, Prevention and Improvement (CPI) System to document problems encountered or ideas for improvement.
- Ability to use MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) and navigate HalWorld is required.
- Must be able to troubleshoot all jobs with minimal direction.
