The Abia State Government has recently introduced the application platform for the second phase of the TechRise Project, with the goal of equipping 850 young individuals in Abia with valuable digital skills. This project is a collaborative effort between the Ministry of Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, the Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation, and the Ministry of Sports and Youth Development.

It has been confirmed by the government that a total of 850 participants will be selected, with approximately 50 qualified candidates chosen from each of the 17 local government areas.
The program provides free training in in-demand skills such as cybersecurity, AI and machine learning using Python, mobile app development using JavaScript, 3D animation, fullstack web development with JavaScript and Python, data engineering, game development with Blender and Godot, UI/UX design, and AI prompt engineering.
A government spokesperson expressed that this initiative reflects their dedication to empowering young individuals through digital skills development. “Our aim is to ensure that the youth in Abia have the opportunity to thrive in the global tech industry.”
Eligibility Requirements
Applicants must be between ages 16 and 40, have basic computer knowledge, and provide both NIN and ABSSIN for verification.

Benefits
In addition to training, participants will receive free laptops, accommodation, three daily meals, internet access, and globally recognized certifications. There are also added perks including internship, mentorship, job placement, and accommodation support.
