Wema Bank Reaffirms Commitment to Women Entrepreneurs Through Fashion Souk 2026 Partnership
Wema Bank Plc has reaffirmed its dedication to empowering women entrepreneurs and supporting small businesses through its continued partnership with Fashion Souk, one of Nigeria’s foremost fashion and lifestyle exhibitions.
The bank announced its return as the headline sponsor for the 2026 edition, following the significant economic gains recorded by participating businesses during previous editions.
According to the bank, the June and December 2025 editions of Fashion Souk generated over ₦1.5 billion in revenue for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), underscoring the importance of market access initiatives in driving entrepreneurial growth.
A combined total of 315 businesses participated in both events, with women-led enterprises accounting for more than 90 percent of exhibitors.
Wema Bank noted that Fashion Souk has become an important platform for entrepreneurs, creatives, and business owners, providing opportunities to showcase products, engage customers, build strategic networks, and boost sales.
The bank stated that these achievements align with its broader mission of promoting women’s economic empowerment and strengthening Nigeria’s SME ecosystem, a sector that plays a vital role in employment creation and economic development.
Building on the success of previous editions, Wema Bank revealed that the 2026 Fashion Souk will feature two separate editions, creating even more opportunities for businesses to explore new markets, enhance brand visibility, and attract a wider customer base.
The expansion is expected to support emerging brands in scaling their operations, improving customer acquisition, and increasing revenue generation.
According to the bank, it remains committed to fostering entrepreneurship through strategic investments and initiatives that enhance market access for growing businesses, particularly women-owned enterprises.
Wema Bank added that its continued sponsorship of Fashion Souk reflects its commitment to financial inclusion, enterprise development, and sustainable business growth across Nigeria.
Over the years, the exhibition has evolved into a leading platform that connects SMEs with consumers while promoting innovation, collaboration, and growth across the fashion, beauty, lifestyle, and creative industries.
Industry experts have consistently identified access to markets as one of the most critical factors influencing the growth of small businesses, making platforms such as Fashion Souk essential for helping entrepreneurs reach larger audiences and expand their customer base.
Through its ongoing partnership with Fashion Souk, Wema Bank aims to deepen support for indigenous brands, strengthen entrepreneurial ecosystems, and contribute to the continued expansion of Nigeria’s vibrant SME sector.
The initiative also highlights the growing importance of public-private partnerships in creating opportunities for small businesses, empowering women entrepreneurs, and driving inclusive economic growth across the country.
