The University of Port Harcourt (UNIPORT) has announced vacancies for two senior administrative and leadership positions: Registrar and University Librarian.

1. Vacancy: Registrar

Requirements

Candidates for the Registrar position are expected to have:

  • A good honours degree from a recognised university.
  • At least 14 years of relevant post-qualification experience.
  • Experience at the level of Director, or at least five years as a Deputy Registrar.
  • Relevant experience in an institution of higher learning is preferred.
  • Higher degree(s) will be an added advantage.
  • Strong management and leadership experience.
  • Excellent administrative, communication and interpersonal skills.
  • The ability to work effectively with university management and other stakeholders.

  • A Ph.D. in Library/Information Science from a recognised university.
  • At least 14 years of relevant post-qualification experience, preferably in a university.
  • Evidence of significant contribution to knowledge.
  • A strong record of research and scholarly publications.
  • Proven management and administrative experience.
  • Knowledge of modern library operations.
  • Experience with e-Library platforms and contemporary information services.
  • Computer/software proficiency.
  • Registration with the Librarians Registration Council of Nigeria (LRCN).
  • Membership of relevant professional associations where applicable.
