Renaissance Africa Energy Company Limited (Renaissance), operator of the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPC), Renaissance, TotalEnergies and Agip Energy and Natural Resources Joint Venture (Renaissance JV), invites applications from suitably qualified candidates for its 2027 Sabbatical and Postgraduate Research Internship Programme.

The programme presents an opportunity for eligible candidates to participate in research and academic activities within the energy sector.

1. Postgraduate Research Internship for University Students

The Postgraduate Research Internship provides opportunities for Nigerian postgraduate students (MSc, M.Phil., and PhD) to gain industry-related work experience and conduct topical research within Renaissance Africa Energy Company Limited.
Duration: 12 months (Non-renewable)

Teams / Disciplines:

Environment: Impact Assessment and Environmental Compliance Monitoring.
Occupational Health: Health Promotion; and Epidemiology / Statistics.
Pipeline Availability: PhD candidate in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Materials Engineering, or Oil & Gas Engineering, with at least three (3) years of pipeline engineering experience in design, construction, or integrity assessment.
Exploration: PhD Intern – Geology / Geophysics, AI in exploration workflow.

2. Sabbatical Attachment for University Lecturers

The sabbatical attachment offers University lecturers from the rank of Senior Lecturer and above, an opportunity to undertake research and other activities that will contribute to Renaissance Africa Energy Company Limited’s business objectives.
It also provides an avenue to acquire industry-related experience and contribute to teaching and research activities at the Renaissance JV Centres of Excellence (CoEs).
Duration: 12 months (Non-renewable)

Teams / Disciplines:

Environment: Impact Assessment and Biodiversity, Environmental Toxicology, Air Quality Assessment, Hydrobiology, Water Chemistry, Hydrogeology, Ecology, etc.
Corporate Relations: Social Performance (Social Impact Assessment and Management).
Corporate Relations: Host Community Development Trust (HCDT) / Stakeholder Relations.
Community Health: Consultant Community Health, Obstetrics & Gynecology, and Pediatrics.
Nigerian Content Development: A Professor in any Engineering Discipline with interest in either Process or Project Engineering.
NNPC/Renaissance-JV Centre of Excellence in Geosciences and Petroleum Engineering, University of Benin, Benin City: Geology, Geophysics, and Petroleum Engineering.
NNPC/Renaissance-JV Centre of Excellence in Marine and Offshore Engineering, Rivers State University, Nkpolu-Oroworukwo, Port Harcourt: Marine/Offshore Engineering and Naval Architecture.
Exploration: Geology / Geophysics, AI in exploration workflow.

iv. For the Research Internship position, a proposal including: study background, technical objectives, methodology, data required and expected outcome.
