The Mastercard Foundation, in collaboration with Arizona State University (ASU), is providing a fully funded opportunity for young Africans to pursue professional graduate certificates online, with additional in-person support at Kepler College in Rwanda.
This scholarship aims to empower dedicated young leaders who are eager to utilize their education to make a positive impact in their communities. Scholars will have the flexibility to study online, receiving personalized mentorship, coaching, and access to ASU’s top-notch resources.
These scholarships are available for individuals seeking to obtain graduate certificates and eventually pursue a full master’s degree. The program is primarily online, with a residency component in Rwanda. The Mastercard Foundation is sponsoring this initiative, which is open to applicants from all African countries.

Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must:
- Be African citizens aged 18 to 33
- Meet ASU admission requirements
- Hold an undergraduate degree by July 2026
- Show strong leadership, service, and academic excellence
- Have no prior graduate degree (started or completed)
- Be willing to reside in Rwanda during the program
- Commit to using their skills for ethical leadership and community impact
