Responsibilities

Execute nursery propagation activities such as substrate preparation, potting, corm splitting, extraction, watering and general handling of nursery plantlets.
Maintain cleanliness of nursery facilities, tools, and related work areas, and support movement of planting materials.
Practice compliance with lab and screen house standard operation and safety procedures during routine operations.
Record basic data for propagation experiments and ensure proper labeling and traceability as guided.
Perform other job-related duties as may be assigned by the supervisor.

Requirements

O’ Level with a minimum of three (3) years’ experience performing a similar role in a well-structured environment.

Competencies:
The ideal candidate must have:

Detail-oriented team player with strong problem solving, communication, and organizational skills, capable of working independently while maintaining quality, productivity, and a safe work environment.
Skilled in accurate data recording, material labeling, and maintaining traceability of plant materials and experiments.
Experience in banana and other vegetative propagated crop production, with a basic understanding of tissue culture laboratory and screenhouse operations.
Strong knowledge of nursery propagation techniques, plant handling, substrate preparation, potting, watering, and general nursery maintenance.
