Join the 2026 Lagos Agripreneurship Programme (LAP) Intensive Training for Aspiring Agripreneurs in Nigeria

The 2026 Lagos Agripreneurship Programme (LAP) Intensive Training is now open for applications. LAP is a strategic initiative designed to equip young individuals with practical skills in modern agriculture, while highlighting the vast opportunities within the food systems sector. The programme delivers structured training, hands-on internships, and mentorship to develop the next generation of agripreneurs.

This initiative aligns with the Lagos State Government’s T.H.E.M.E.S Plus Development Agenda, particularly in the areas of capacity building, employment generation, and the promotion of food security, as championed by the Ministry of Agriculture and Food Systems.

Qualified candidates are invited to apply for a one-month intensive training programme at the Agricultural Training Institute, Araga, Epe. Participants will receive specialized training in key agricultural value chains, including:

  • Poultry
  • Piggery
  • Aquaculture
  • Vegetable Production
  • E-Agriculture
  • Agribusiness

Upon successful completion of the training phase, participants will proceed to a three-month internship and mentorship programme with selected commercial farms aligned with their chosen value chains.

An evaluation will be conducted at the end of the training to assess participants’ understanding and performance. Outstanding participants will be recognized and rewarded, fostering a culture of excellence and dedication.

Requirements

Young people with a passion for agriculture, who must:

  • Possess a minimum of Senior Secondary School Certificate.
  • Have a satisfactory physical/health condition.
  • Be between the ages of 18-30.
  • Have LASRRA Number

Application Procedure:

  • Qualified Applicants are required to visit the LAP APPLICATION PORTAL to fill out the online application form.
  • Applicants should follow the online instructions on filling the registration form and upload required documents (Applicant’s LASRRA Card and Academic Credentials)
  • Applicants are advised to take pictures of the above mentioned documents and store on their Smart Phones, Tablets or Laptop / Desktop computers prior to accessing the registration portal. This is for the ease of uploading the documents on request.
  • Applicants are instructed to fill in all required details as failing to do so would render their application incomplete
  • Shortlisted candidates will be notified through SMS to attempt online Aptitude Test on dates to be slated for each month.

The L.A.P. is a training programme geared towards:

  • Establishing a network of trained agripreneurs.
  • Equipping youths with agribusiness skills, fostering a new generation of agripreneurs
  • Mitigating unemployment and poverty by providing viable career opportunities in agriculture.

Benefits

  • A transport stipend of ₦15,000.00 (Fifteen Thousand Naira) will be paid to participants upon completion of the training phase.
  • Also, the Government will provide a monthly stipend of ₦20,000.00 (Twenty Thousand Naira) to participants during the three-month Internship and Mentorship Phase.

Upon successful completion of the programme’s two phases, participants will undergo enterprise activation.
