FirstRand has recently announced a renewed partnership with the Oxford School of Global and Area Studies, extending their collaboration for another four years. This partnership aims to provide an exceptional South African student with the opportunity to pursue an MSc in African Studies at the prestigious University of Oxford.

The scholarship will cover full funding for one student each year to pursue an MSc at the School of Global and Area Studies at the University of Oxford, with accommodation provided at Wadham College.
Applicants must apply online, and the selection process will be conducted by FirstRand, focusing on criteria such as academic excellence, leadership potential, community involvement, and the ability to effect positive change.
Candidates must also apply and be accepted for an MSc in African Studies at the University of Oxford to be eligible for this scholarship opportunity.

In a similar vein, the One Young World Leading Scholarship Program for 2025 is now open for applications. This program is specifically designed to support outstanding young leaders from underrepresented countries in global forums and decision-making spaces.
Eligible applicants must be between the ages of 18 and 30, demonstrate a commitment to positive change, show leadership potential, address key local or global issues, and have a track record of impactful and innovative ideas.
Selected delegates will have full access to the One Young World Summit in Munich, Germany, including hotel accommodation, catering, and travel expenses. They will also have the opportunity to network with over 18,700 potential collaborators from 196 countries, gain visibility for their work, and engage with world-renowned experts and leaders.

Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis, with priority given to candidates from countries that have been less represented at previous summits. First-time attendees will also receive preference, and sponsorship cannot be guaranteed for all applicants.
