Robotics and Artificial Intelligence Nigeria (RAIN) was founded in 2019 with the goal of bridging the skills gap in Nigeria and West Africa by providing training in cutting-edge technologies of the Fourth Industrial Revolution (4IR). Their aim is to inspire creativity, enhance skills, and drive technological advancement in AI, robotics, and related areas.

Upon enrollment at UBC, students are awarded the IMES scholarship, which can be renewed for up to three additional years. The number and level of scholarships granted each year may vary based on the availability of funds, ensuring that deserving students have the opportunity to pursue their passion for technology.
EligibilityÂ
Academic Qualifications
- Recent graduates
- Preferably but not limited to First-class degree holders with excellent references from university lecturers
- Backgrounds in Engineering, Computer Science, Computing, Mathematics, or Physical Sciences
Technical Requirements
- Demonstrable knowledge of coding (especially Python, C++, or C)
- Passion for robotics, automation, and/or artificial intelligence
- Must provide own laptop (16GB RAM, Core i7 recommended) and arrange accommodation in Ibadan
Citizenship & Residency
- Open to any individual legally permitted to study in Nigeria
- Not limited to Nigerian citizens, welcome to qualified candidates from across West Africa
