Working As Storekeepers in Canada
You will oversee the storage areas, warehouses, or stockrooms within your organization. Your main objective is to guarantee that all products, materials, tools, and equipment are stored correctly and are readily accessible when required, all while maintaining precise inventory records.
Expected Job Duties and Responsibilities
- You will be responsible for keeping track of inventories and verifying incoming shipments to be sure the numbers are accurate as recorded in the purchase documents
- Organize and store items efficiently to maximize available space while ensuring that items are easily accessible when needed
- Maintain adequate and accurate records of inventory
- Process and fulfill internal or external orders for materials or products in the store
- Inspect supplies for damage or defects at the time of delivery and report any issues to management
- Take note of the shelf life of perishable goods and ensure that older stock is used or sold before newer items
- Adherence to safety protocols and regulations and maintaining a safe working environment
- Identify, label and catalogue items received
