We are looking for solutions that not only align with our theme of harnessing emerging technologies and Digital Public Infrastructure but also offer a fresh perspective on how these technologies can be used to benefit smallholder farmers and marginalized communities. In addition to recognition for your hard work, the winners of this challenge will have the incredible opportunity to present their ideas at the prestigious Science and Innovation Forum in Rome in October 2025. This is your chance to showcase your innovation on a global stage and make a real impact in the world of agrifood systems.
When evaluating applications, we will be looking at the market potential and economic value of each project. We want to see ideas that have the potential for market entry, scalability, profitability, and the ability to create economic opportunities such as employment and investment. Your project should not only be innovative but also have the potential to make a lasting impact on the industry.
Furthermore, we will be assessing the social, environmental impact, and sustainability of each idea. Your project should demonstrate how it will improve livelihoods, promote sustainability, reduce food loss and pollution, and contribute to climate resilience and social inclusion. We are looking for ideas that not only benefit the environment but also have a positive impact on society as a whole.
Lastly, we will be evaluating the project teams themselves. We want to see teams that have the operational capacity, relevant experience, technical skills, and a commitment to diversity and gender equity. We believe that diverse teams are more innovative and successful, and we want to see that reflected in the applications we receive.
